Yippee!! It's Labour Weekend - the first long weekend of summer. People are hitting the roads to go and air out their summer baches (or mansions for those that have something slightly less humble). The weather forecast is (of course) for rain so be careful out there on the roads and pack lots of good reading. If you do want to get out and about in Rodney this weekend there is plenty to see and do.

The famous Matakana School Gala - Saturday 25 October, closely followed by the equally famous Leigh Pre-School Gala on Sunday. Rodney District Council requests that people travelling to (or through) Matakana have patience and advise that they do have a traffic management plan to help this year on Saturday.
National Street Rod Association 'Nationals'. Thurs 23rd to Tues 28th Oct at the Helensville Showgrounds. Events will include an open-to-the-public 'show and shine' on Saturday 25th with approx 150 hot rods on display.
Further west at Kumeu the Mystical Fayre visits the Kumeu Community Hall, Kumeu, Sat 25 Oct - Sun 26 Oct. Clairvoyance, tarot, tree reading, crystals, healing Reiki, massage, and natural Health products. "Heartfood Cafe" operating all weekend, raffles and more. All welcome.
