If another one of those New Year's resolutions in your household was to study and improve yourself, this is the month to confirm your enrolment at all those tertiary educations.
For those of us that are earning a living to pay a mortgage, study and personal development is usually done by distance learning. The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand has a wide range of courses from interest and hobby right through to degree programmes. I have always found this a very practical way of studying and have just enrolled for my next semester.
Closer to home both Orewa and Mahurangi College Adult and Community Education booklets for Term 1 are in the libraries now. Or you can check out the websites http://www.orewa.school.nz/ or http://www.mahurangi.school.nz/ and click on the Community Education links to find the up-to-date course information. There is always a huge demand for this information and we were asked for the Term 1 booklets as early as 28th December this year. Just shows how many keen people there are out there, interested in trying something new in 2008.
