Yes, it's Melbourne Cup day. You can see what's happening over at Flemington by having a look at their webcam. There isn't much action on course at the moment but you can see the grounds team getting ready for the day.
If you are having a sweepstake at work have a look at the field and form guide. It will tell you whether or not your assigned horse is likely to come out a winner. I've had a quick look and unfortunately I don't think mine will. To console myself I'll be looking at the style and fashion pages instead.
If you're in the North of Rodney be sure to get along to the Matakana Village Melbourne Carnival. While the horses will be seen only on the big screen at Matakana, the Village will open its doors to the kind of fashion frenzy that famously accompanies Cup racing. Support a great cause and have a good time doing it.
