During NZ Music Month Rodney District Council / Arts is hosting ensembles from the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra in venues throughout Rodney. These free events will take place in Helensville, Mahurangi/Warkworth and Orewa. They are for lovers of classical music, people wanting an introduction to classical music or anyone who wants to while away a Saturday afternoon being entertained by professional musicians without having to drive all the way to the city!
These are great events to take the kids to as musicians interact with the audience throughout the performances, talking about their instruments and what it's like to be in an orchestra.
Venues as follows:-
17 May 4-5pm – Helensville War Memorial – APO Wind Quintet - family presentation - FREE
24 May 2-3pm – Mahurangi Community Centre, Snells Beach – Jade Quartet - for kids - FREE
31 May 2-pm – Centrestage in Orewa – NZ Chamber Brass –quintet - family presentation - FREE
