It's that time of year where everything gets packed into the car and you hit the roads with thousands of others who are all trying to get somewhere. It's usually hot and humid and the radio receiption around the hills and valleys of our fair country is a little random.
WE HAVE THE ANSWER!
More and more people are discovering that one way to ease the tension and tedium of car trips is with talking (or audio) books. Pop a CD or a tape into your car stereo and enter a whole different world.
There is a huge range available on talking books from the latest bestsellers such as Rhonda Byrne's The Secret, Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic & Sister and David Baldacci's The Collectors to the classic authors such as George Orwell, Agatha Christie, Daphne du Maurier and Jane Austen.
There are new titles being bought all the time and lots have arrived just in time for Christmas.
Try A Golden Age by Tahmimia Anam - A great story about survival during Bangladeshs War of Independence, or The Bullet Trick by Louise Welsh - an edgy tale set in the world of cabaret and magicians.
And audio books are not just for adults - catch me here again tomorrow and I will talk about our childrens and young adults titles.
