The 2010 Rodney Libraries Roadshow kicked off today and I am really excited that our first visit was to my old school Tauhoa. Especially as since I last visited, they have undergone a complete rebuild. Rosie very proudly showed me around and we loved the new classrooms. I took along an old photo from my days of the entire school hanging or sitting in the branches of the "Twisty Tree". Some of the kids even spotted uncles and aunties in the photo. We had an awesome time.
The Roadshow is a library programme where we go out to primary schools in the area and promote books and the library. We tell you about all the exciting things that we have happening in the library, what you find there and how to get a library card. There is some storytelling, some great new picture and story books and a special production. Best of all (for the schools) it's FREE.
