Well, apart from the predictions of another large storm heading our way that is. Head out again today on what has become a regular Friday chore and make sure everything is secure and watertight. Here are some things happening.
Kaipara Coast Plant Centre Workshop
Kaipara Coast Highway, just north of Kaukapakapa on Saturday 23rd August 10.00am. A free workshop on looking after fruit trees including growing your own fruit, which trees to use, pruning and other maintenance. So for all those people who have taken out all our books on pruning of fruit trees, this is for you. To book phone Kaipara Coast Plant Centre on 09 4205655, or go to their website http://www.plantsnz.co.nz/
North Harbour vs Waikato - NPC Rugby
North Harbour Stadium, Sunday 24 August with kickoff at 2.35pm. Go early and watch the North Harbour Secondary schools final. Six of the best dressed Harbour supporters will get the La-Z-Boy sideline seats. We've had a couple of close ones so get along to support the boys against the Mooloo country. Tickets from www.ticketdirect.co.nz or 08004TICKET.
Lifeway College Open Day
20 Goodall Road, Snells Beach Saturday 23 August at 1.30pm. Come along and go on a tour of the campus including the increasingly famous Huhu Studios and attend an animation workshop. Learn about their counselling and ministry with interactive workshops or simply listen to the speakers and have a coffee in their wonderful new cafe.
It's a reasonably quiet weekend in Rodney this weekend before lots happening the last weekend in August (Leisure centre open day, Rally New Zealand to name a couple).
