Wasn't it fantastic!!! Even if you are not a sport lover, you have to be impressed by the achievements of our Olympians over the weekend. Valerie with Gold - you are a star! Caroline and Georgina, another Gold - smile and we smile with you! Mahe - the most heroic Bronze you will ever see, still smiling after being ill all week! Hayden's Silver - what you get for never saying never! Nathan and George - moved onto the podium with a Bronze after missing out with a 4th at Athens! And it wasn't just the medals. The velodrome was the scene of some fantastic times, near misses and the opportunity for more medals to come, while Nick Willis moved into the 1500m final and in all the hype of Michael Phelp's eight gold medals, we almost lost track of our 4 x 100m medley team in the last event of the pool coming in a stunning fifth in the final.Today sees our sailors back in action trying to make up for all the lost time (including Jo Aleh who is in with a fantastic medal chance and Barbara Kendall still thereabouts), while Rodney sprinter James Dolphin competes in the heats of the 200m. The womens triathlon is this afternoon as well as the kayakers kicking off their programme and the cyclists going for more medals.
