Kiaora. Maori has been an official language of New Zealand since 1987 although Maori Language week has been celebrated since 1975. (It's almost as old as me.) For more information have a look at these pages from New Zealand History online.
You will find Maori language resources in the 499's in the information sections of your library. There are other items too, like picture books and jigsaws - check with your local librarians.
